Composer-guitarist, Philippe performs his own compositions and arrangements. His style? "Classic-Fusion".Classic: because he studied classical music and jazz at the National Conservatory of Nice. Fusion: because his eclectic tastes have led Philippe to experiment with all kinds of music, from jazz to the most experimental music. Extremely versatile, he improvises and evolves without limits in an ever-expanding musical universe. He plays Handel and Jimmy Hendrix and Leo Brouwer all with the same ease, thus demonstrating one of his most important characteristics. Philippe performs each year in Europe , but also travels to the USA , Canada and Latin America . The Montreal International Jazz Festival, Euro-San Francisco, the Los Angeles Festival, CultFusion at Rio de Janeiro, Ottawa’s Tulip Festival, Edmonton Jazz Festival... these are just a few of the major shows at which Philippe Bertaud regularly performs.
