As a young boy, Philippe Bertaud imagined becoming a shepherd in
rural France. At the age of fourteen he took up guitar and
forever changed the direction of his career. After finishing his
studies at the National Conservatory of Nice, under the renowned
composer Jacques Charpentier, his musical talents took him on a
melodic journey of cultural exploration.
Philippe Bertaud has incorporated a wide array of music elements
that he has gathered from his travels around the globe. Along
with his eclectic music tastes he has turned his inner harmony
into an outward expression of musical style he calls “without
border.”
His fusion-laced music is rich in texture and elegant in
presentation. Audiences are impressed by his dazzling technique
and mesmerized by the speed of his fingers. Whether Philippe is
playing classical, jazz or a fusion of ethnic elements you are

experience some of the joy that pours forth from the pure
pleasure of his melodious compositions.
His ability to move between styles with seamless transition and
precision make Philippe an artist of true quality. He has
inspired and illuminated audiences all over the world. In a time
where music is truly the universal language, Philippe Bertaud is
certainly an artist “without border.”
