Dallas Vegan State Fair

That is amazing! When I think it was so hard to find healthy food 8 years ago when my family and I moved to Texas. Now, it is everywhere. Again, that shows how America is a forward thinking country, that is evolving so fast that it make can your head spin.

Also imagine how funny it is to find in Texas, the beef state, a Vegan State Fair. And very successful indeed. The fair, which took place on an idyllic Sunday afternoon at Winfrey Point at White Rock, had vegan food vendors, speakers, yoga, animal and environmental groups, and rock bands.
We arrived a little bit to late and all the food was gone! But we did not miss Amber Shea, and her raw food (un)cooking demonstration.
She was very simple, just herself and so well spoken. We had some tasteful samples and like she said, all recipes are prepared in a few minutes. Also cleaning becomes so easy!

It was also so nice to see the Spiral Diner there. That is one of the place to really go when you are looking for atmosphere, good food and coffee.

Speakers at the event included Nathan Runkle, Founder and Executive Director of Mercy For Animals and writer/director/editor Marisa Miller Wolfson of the film Vegucated. Dallasvegan.com hosts the event and it started off with a party. How nice to just relax, look at people being happy and connecting with each other. The place is really beautiful
