It has been three days now that Texas is covered of snow and ice. That, on the top of being beautiful – especially when we know it will over tomorro – give us a lot of time to stay in front of the fire place and write blogs, post pictures and whatnot.
This past show has been busier than last year, which gives the feeling the economy is back on track. A lot of buyers came from South and Central America.
Alhambra Guitar has new well known players coming from different musical horizons.
Tom Kikta, wonderful performer and master teacher was at NAMM to present his two new books:
-
Classical Guitar Technique that he wrote with Aeron Shearer
Tom came to say hello and played my Linea Profesional just before falling in love with the Alhambra Crossover.
He even performed on it at his Alfred Publishing showcase! A wonderful performance mixing styles with elegance and talent.
Hardrock guitarist Pat de la Rosa had a jalt for a thin body flamenco guitar. Which has a narrow neck, perfect for electric and steel string guitarists.
The other novelty was the Loud Box mini that I was playing on at the Fishman booth. A super small amplifier for acoustic guitar that develop a loud 60 watts voice! What amazed me is how the sound of my guitar was still pure. A beautiful reverb and the whole thing just weights a few pounds! Ideal for little gigs and practice.
Days just flew by and were very intense. The last day, as the show closed, a lot of dealers and artists just sat down and kepted playing until night.
