That is the new CD, my first singing
project.
I have been singing for a long time
to entertain people at a show with
sweet, jazzy French love songs.
The concept came about after a
concert in 2004 when I realized that
my most requested album was for the
one I did not have, of the songs I
sang in concert.
The same thing happened in 2006
after a duo concert with
Bernardinello. We had such had such
a great time that we decided to team
up on this project.
Therefore, after we chose a list of
songs we both loved, I started to
work on the arrangements.
Not just the guitar and voice but I
wanted to record with a band:
piano, drums, percussions and
specially the Italian Stalion of the
bass: Roberto Bernardinello.
We called in Steve Hatfield to pound
the drum skins for four tracks and
John Goering to tickle the piano
keys for two. Francis played
ten-string guitar for his own "Cafe
au Lait," for which Philippe added
French lyrics. The three of them
play percussion on various tracks.
The album is a nice mixture of
originals and unique arrangements,
solos, duos, and ensemble works and
features two live bonus tracks from
the original 2006 concert with
Roberto.
